AB 1955 Impacts and Further Erodes Parental Rights

Sacramento is relentless about taking away parental rights and ability for parents to stay informed about their children’s challenges in school. AB 1955 is another measure designed to keep parental control out of the school yard, classroom and academic life of young boys and girls. No one agrees with forced outing in any environment. But this bill is not really about forced outing of gay youth. It is about keeping a parent’s right to know about their children’s academic and social challenges held at bay, and make school districts proxy parents. It is simply wrong and a concerning trend in law making.
